In a context marked by political tensions, technological transformations and social challenges, culture stands out as a key tool to strengthen democracy and imagine a shared European future. On the occasion of Europe Day, the Fundació Catalunya Europa is organising a major dialogue to reflect on the role of culture in the construction of the European project.
The event will take place on May 6 at 6 p.m. at the Tàpies Museum Auditorium and will feature the participation of Núria Iceta, director of L’Avenç, Salvador Sunyer, former director of the Temporada Alta Festival, and Alexandra Lebret, film producer and former director of the European Producers Club, will engage in a conversation moderated by Lisi Andrés, Head of Communications at L’Auditori.
The debate will explore three core issues: how to define a shared European cultural identity without undermining its diversity; how to protect creative work in the digital era, shaped by the rise of AI and online platforms; and the role of culture as a space for democratic resistance and a driver of peace in times of polarisation and conflict.
