The debate has explored how to protect local businesses from the threat posed by large chains and digital platforms, as well as how to promote policies to prevent gentrification and ensure affordable housing for younger generations. It has also highlighted the importance of fostering a sense of community despite increasing mobility and challenges in putting down roots.
