Debate with Christian Stöcker i Karina Gibert en el marc del cicle "Europa pensa“

Una Europa innovadora

On Thursday, October 29 at 7:00 PM, Goethe-Institut Barcelona will host the panel debate "An Innovative Europe", organized with the collaboration of Fundació Catalunya Europa as an associate partner within the "Europe Thinks" series.

Against a global backdrop defined by rapid technological shifts and compounding crises, Europe faces the pressing challenge of cultivating a dynamic culture of technological, economic, political, and ecological innovation. Rather than succumbing to defensive mindsets or systemic inertia that hinder vital transitions—such as sustainable mobility—this session explores practical ways to unlock these bottlenecks, foster synergies among reliable democratic partners, and actively engage citizens, policymakers, and industry in forward-looking solutions.

The panel brings together two prominent experts: cognitive psychologist, author, and professor Christian Stöcker, one of Germany's most recognized voices on innovation, and professor Karina Gibert i Oliveras, a leading specialist in artificial intelligence and data science. Moderated by tech journalist Mariola Dinarès, the conversation will examine how media, science, the arts, and civil society can drive meaningful progress across technical frameworks, cultural values, and organizational models.

The "Europe Thinks" series is an initiative of the Goethe-Institut branches in Barcelona and Madrid in collaboration with the Asociación Amigos del Goethe-Institut España. This event is also supported by the NeDeNa network and the Kreis deutschsprachiger Führungskräfte. Simultaneous translation will be provided in Catalan and German.
