How can the Port of Barcelona, El Prat Airport, and the different long-distance rail connection operators be connected in order to guarantee the maximum capacity of the metropolitan region of Barcelona to attract and connect people efficiently and sustainably?

The event will take the format of a round table, moderated by Andreu Ulied, civil engineer and director of the consultancy MCRIT. It will be attended by:

  • Jordi Torrent, head of strategy of the Port of Barcelona.
  • Sonia Corrochano, director of the Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat Airport.
  • Pere Macias, former president of Cercle Infraestructures

This event is part of the debates on Metropolitan Governance of the cycle of The transformation of the city of the Fundació Catalunya Europa and of the cycle of the multilevel metropolis of the participatory process "Barcelona Demà. Compromís Metropolità 2030", organised by the Pla Estratègic Metropolità de Barcelona (PEMB).

The transformation of the city is a series of debates organised by the Fundació Catalunya Europa along with the Fundació La Caixa and the Club Roma, with the support of the Diputació de Barcelona, the AMB, Barcelona City Council, Santa Coloma de Gramenet City Council, Gavà City Council, El Prat de Llobregat City Council and Sant Boi de Llobregat City Council, and the collaboration of Barcelona Global and the Pla Estratègic Metropolità de Barcelona.

Barcelona Demà is the process of collective reflection and action that must provide us with a new strategic plan for the metropolis of the 5 million: the Compromís Metropolità 2030. It is, therefore, a process of defining a shared strategy for the metropolitan region that will face the great urban challenges of the 21st century.
