Pasqual Maragall i Mira (Barcelona, 1941), mayor of Barcelona and president of the Generalitat of Catalonia, has been a prominent figure in Catalan and Spanish politics over the past forty years.
Continuing the effort to analyze and make his work known, the Catalunya Europa Foundation has promoted a new research project, adding to the two previously published works on his figure and political action: Pasqual Maragall. Pensamiento y acción and Maragall i el govern de la Generalitat: les polítiques del canvi.
This time, the focus is on deepening his commitment to the project of European political integration and his tireless international activity, driven by his conviction of Europe’s importance as a fundamental, necessary, and future-oriented political arena.
This volume captures and examines the experience of the mayor of the Olympic Games and the international projection of Barcelona; the man and political leader moved and committed to peace during the Balkan conflict; the promoter of city diplomacy and decentralized cooperation in the Mediterranean; the president of the Committee of the Regions; and the professore at Università Roma Tre, who studies, thinks, debates, and reflects on Europe with academics and political leaders.
The book is available in bookstores, major chains, and online. It is also available as an ebook.
