Inequalities in the metropolis, a global comparison

This report is a first approach to the situation of inequalities in thirty major cities around the world, providing interesting findings around the relationship of inequality with the different variables chosen. From this analysis, it has been observed that, for most of the cities analyzed, there is a strong relationship between GDP per capita and inequality. In the same vein, factors such as the weight of local public spending on GDP, the unemployment rate, or the patent rate per 10,000 population may be factors that trigger greater inequality. On the other hand, inequality has a very negative impact on very diverse factors such as the unemployment rate, life expectancy, the homicide rate, the literacy rate or the increase in voting for xenophobic parties and / or far right.
