“There is no place, in Europe or anywhere else, for the denial of genocide, revisionism, or the glorification of those responsible,” stated António Costa, President of the European Council. From the Catalunya Europa Foundation, we defend and will continue to promote this vision of Europe, clear in its protection of Human Rights and committed to memory.
Today marks 30 years since the Srebrenica genocide.
On July 11, 1995, 8,373 Muslim men and boys were killed by Bosnian Serb forces in an enclave declared safe by the United Nations.
Srebrenica was the greatest failure of the international community since World War II.
Thirty years later, the world once again faces its own responsibility in the face of barbarity. The crimes committed against the civilian population in Gaza once again challenge our capacity and willingness to act to protect human rights and preserve the dignity of all lives.
